PURPOSE OF
ORE CHUTES
·
Chute is a narrow opening in mine
workings through which ore is loaded in to mine cars
·
The term also applied to a box
like structure equipped with controlling gate fitted to such openings.
DESIGN OF
ORE PASS AND CHUTE
·
The shape of the funnel or cone
depends on the fragmentation obtained during blasting which may form fridge at
the mouth and it should be kept as wide as possible
·
The ore passes should be straight
or spiral when seam is highly inclined so that they do not come straightly from
top to bottom reducing the breakage of chute sides
·
The inclination of ore chutes
depends on mechanisation or draw point has to be installed
TYPES OF
CHUTES
1. Direct
discharge type with gate
2. Chutes
with feeders /vibrators
2.
Direct
discharge type chutes:
·
In this type ore moves through the
haulage level by gravity
·
When the gate is opened manually
or mechanically
·
It has low capacity per shift of
loading
·
The loading capacity of this chute
is 250t/shift
Chutes ith
feeders:
·
Ore moves through mechanical
osilators
·
Moves at a rate of
2000/3000osilations /minute
·
The loading capacity up to
500t/shift
Finger
raise:
·
Used for transfer of ore
·
Used in several cross section
raises of short length that branch together to the same delivery point
Draw
point:
·
Place is located at the bottom of
stoping area
·
Ore can be loaded manually machines
in to tubs or mine cars
·
Has no controlling gate
LOCATION
OF ORE CHUTES
·
Located at
the bottom of ore bin
·
Located at in the sill pillar in
over hand stoping
·
Located in the raise, winze
connection. Raise winze connection
sometimes used for drawing the ore
FACTORS
DECIDING DESIGN FEATURESOF ORE CHUTE/ORE PASS
·
Inclination of ore body
·
Availability of fragmented ore
·
Method of stoping
·
Mechanization of loading and
transport
·
Production rate
·
Availability of constructional
material
·
Life of stope
·
Stability of lower level
·
Grade of ore
