ORE BIN

·         Ore bin is an excavation lined with masonry or concrete construction

·         It is of special design

·         Used for storing the ore extracted from the part of the mine

PURPOSE OF ORE BIN

·         Ore bin is an excavation for  temporary storing of ore Called as bunker

·         The ore bins for storage can be made at Surface in the top of head gear structure for stocking and transferring the ore in to trucks At the pit top inclines for stocking and loading in to trucks

·         In underground near the shaft bottom for storing and transferring ore to surface

·         Ore screening and handling plants or storing and loading in to trucks/wagons

TYPES OF BIN

These are two types

                Storing of waste  rock called waste bin

                Storing of ore or mineral called ore bin

types of lining of bins

1.       Unlined ore bins

2.       Lined ore bins

2.       Lining is provided with

2.                i. Masonry lining or brick lining

2.                ii. Cement concrete lining

·         Located at main shaft top

·         Located at main inclined shaft top

·         Located at the bottom of the shaft

·         Located at the bottom of the inclined shaft

·         Located at the ore handling plants

·         Located at the under ground conveyor/truck/mine car loading points
