Division of ore body includes drivage of
inclines/shafts/ adits/levels/raises/winzes/cross cuts/drifts/hanging wall
drives/ foot wall drives etc
Driving will be done by conventional /
mechanized methods
Development of mine takes places by three
ways
1.Dip development/raise development
2.Development along strike direction
3.Development with cross cuts
Division of minable ore body take place by
two methods
The methods are
A. Conventional methods
B. Mechanized methods
A.
CONVENTIONAL
METHOD
·
Drilling ,blasting and manual
loading
·
Jack hammers are used for drilling
·
These are generally leg mounted
·
The rate of penetration is
0.2-0.3m/min
·
Jack hammer employed in medium
hard rock
B.
MECHANISED
METHODS
·
Drilling will be done with the
help of jumbo drills with one or more booms
·
So , that drilling operation will
be efficient
·
Cycle time is reduced
·
Drills are mobile/crawler mounted
·
Loading is done by mechanical
means
·
Load haul dumper in combination
with locomotive haulage etc
·
In continuous mining type, road
header and continuous miners can be used
·
Which eliminates drilling and
blasting
·
The most mechanized method is, the
use of tunnel boring machine
·
In hard rocks, drilling and
blasting is convenient but, for medium hard rocks ,road heading machines can be
used
·
Tunnel boring machine used under special circumstances like
·1.Nature
of rock
·2.Strength
of rock
·3.Regularity
·4.Rate of
drivage is most important factor
